Welcome to EuCAP 2018

Dear Colleague,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2018 edition of EuCAP, the 12th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, run under the auspices of the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP).

EuCAP has now become one of flagship conferences on antennas and propagation attracting all researchers across the world. With approximately 1200 attendees it is the largest conference of its type outside of the USA. We are very honoured that London is chosen to be the venue to host the conference this year.

Welcome to London

April is the best time to visit London when the temperatures are mild and the city's parks are green and blooming. Samuel Johnson once said: “By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show.” London is a major global centre of higher education teaching and research and has the largest concentration of higher education institutes in Europe. More than 250 years ago, Michael Faraday conducted his research on the magnetic field around a conductor carrying a direct current, which established the basis for the concept of the electromagnetic field, the cornerstone for technologies related to antennas and propagation.

Call for Papers is Now Open

EuCAP in London will continue with the tradition of past editions. It will cover a wide area of research, related to antennas and propagation, and encompasses various aspects of fundamental theory, numerical modelling and designs, industrial applications, advanced manufacturing and measurements. It is formed as a balanced set of plenary/keynote talks, invited and contributed presentations, all subjected to rigorous peer review.

Convened sessions address key topical problems and we particularly welcome proposals from industrialists, concerning futuristic, cross-disciplinary and high impact topics. We would like also to invite people to organise short courses and industrial workshops. Most importantly, we will welcome companies and other organisations to sponsor the conference.

Submit your paper by 27 October 2017

EuCAP 2018 will be held in the International Convention Centre (ICC at ExCeL London), which is in close proximity to London City Airport. The ICC provides an excellent venue to all conference participants within a compact space so that industrial exhibitors, poster presenters and others can interact more effectively during coffee and lunch breaks.

We have assembled an enthusiastic conference organisation committee, supported by the events team at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). We will provide all participants with tailored support from manuscript submission, invitation letters to travel advice. All enquiries can be submitted to Please be reminded that the paper submission deadline is 27 October 2017.

Confucius said “Is it not delightful to have friends coming from distant quarters?” We have prepared an attractive social programme at the conference, which includes the dinner at the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. We hope to see you in London in April 2018 and look forward to your participation.

Call for Papers

This is your chance to present your latest research, results and applications to an international audience of antennas and propagation specialists. Over 1000 global experts from industry and academia are expected to attend EuCAP 2018.

Authors of accepted papers at EuCAP will have their work published in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore, unless stated by the corresponding author. Additionally, authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version for publication in a special issue of either IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation or the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies (EuMA).

Final papers submission deadline: 27 October 2017

Conference format

The comprehensive conference programme will feature 5 busy days jam-packed with regular, plenary, poster and convened sessions. Highlights of what you can expect include:

  • Plenary keynote speeches and semi-plenary talks from top-level academic and industry experts
  • Scientific workshops and short courses, which are an excellent educational opportunity for all aspiring and practising researchers
  • Extensive peer-reviewed presentations, showcasing the latest research from around the world

Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities

EuCAP 2018 will also include industrial workshops and an exhibition showcasing state-of-the-art technology, instrumentation and software tools available in the antennas and propagation field.

If your company or organisation provides services or technology related to any aspects of antennas and propagation, you should definitely explore EuCAP’s varied exhibition and sponsorship opportunities.

EuCAP 2018 will be held at ExCel London, one of London’s largest international convention and exhibition centres and conveniently situated in the city’s famous Docklands area.

We invite you to enjoy the conference social programme and to explore London’s attractions – vibrant culture and entertainment, historic landmarks and breath-taking sites.
